The west side of the Salt Lake Valley is home to the Oquirrh Mountains. Often overshadowed by the Wasatch Mountain Range across the valley, the Oquirrh Mountains play host to one of the world's largest copper mines, in addition to some of the most beautiful and easily accessible scenery in the valley. Middle Canyon Road, nestled within the Oquirrhs, is a quick and easy trail that gives you access to some of the greatest features that this mountain range has to offer. Plenty of camping, hiking trails, cityscapes, and access to views of the copper mine await for those who venture here.

Head to Tooele City Hall. From there, head south on Main Street for half a block until you come to the stoplight. Turn left onto Vine Street. Head east for approximately two miles, at which point you will reach the mouth of the Canyon. If coming from the Herriman side, take Butterfield Canyon until you reach the saddle. This will put you at the top of Middle Canyon Road (Waypoint 6 - Trail End).

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, he's only been off-roading since he was 16 but fell in love immediately. He attended college in Denver for Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management and wheeled in Colorado for 4 years, but ended up moving back home to Salt Lake City. He currently works in an off-road shop and spends his free time doing anything he can to stay busy, which is usually working on his jeep or playing music. Outside of off-roading, he is an avid whitewater rafter and outdoor cook. Camping at least every other weekend in any season is a normal year. The further from civilization, the better. Bring on the memories!
