D1238 is an easy, two-mile trek across picturesque Utah prairie land. The sandy two-track cuts across blowing grasslands with distant views of the La Sal Mountain range and more. In dry conditions, you can easily drive in 2WD with a high clearance vehicle past Big Flat Reservoir, connecting with D1244 or D1240. The trail has short, small rock sections that are bumpy, and numerous deep washouts are easily avoided. No established or potential campsites can be found along this route.
