North Dakota Off-Road Trails

With access right off Interstate 94, road 730A2 is a convenient destination for free camping and exploring southwest North Dakota. This road offers an easy, short gravel trail with a unique North Dakota Badlands dispersed camping experience. 15 designated first-come, first-served sites vary in size to accommodate rigs and groups from small to large. Set up camp along the gravel track and wake up to the rolling prairie, sculpted buttes, and the rugged badlands that define this corner of western North Dakota. High-clearance vehicles are recommended, but not required, to access most campsites.

With Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library minutes away, it's a great base for hikers, overlanders, and anyone looking to explore one of the state's largest blocks of public land.
