Ryan & John's Pick: This trail reminds you of the beauty and scenery of Ouray. With just a bit of challenge to it, this is an absolute must-do trail in the Denver area. It doesn't get much better than Red Cone.
Ariana's Pick: A great day trip that everyone should do at least once. Run the trail as mapped, starting at Waypoint 1. Dropping down from forested mountains into the Great Sand Dunes NP is quite the experience. As a pleasant surprise, there is a free air station in the visitor center parking area when you finish!
Todd's Pick: It's a true odyssey through the various alpine parks. A good number of water features, and you can actually camp along the source of the Rio Grande River.
John's Pick: This trail takes you along crystal clear waters and thick forest vegetation before topping out at Lake Como. This is my personal favorite trail in Ouray for the scenery and the moderate challenge.
Todd's Pick: A tough gatekeeper will likely let you have this lake all to yourself for a night or two of camping.
John's Pick: If you like water crossings, hiking, and a good challenge, look no further than Middle St. Vrain. Just an hour from the Denver area, this trail will provide fun for all types of rigs and experience levels. Hike out to the end of this trail to see the Isabelle Glacier!
John's Pick: The scenery and the history of Imogene Pass sum up the Ouray experience - incredible and otherworldly. This trail has some great camping to boot. This is a must-do trail in the Ouray area.
Todd's Pick: It's rough, which keeps the crowds out and offers amazing Colorado views of 14ers, alpine meadows, and mining history.
John's Pick: This multi-day overland trail will provide a good challenge and some of the most incredible scenery the Flat Tops has to offer. This is a lesser known area of Colorado, which makes travel here a bit more calm than some of the more popular areas. If you like camping, offroading, hiking, fishing, and not being around a ton of people, this is a must-do trail in Colorado.
Todd's Pick: There are very few places in the U.S. where you can see colors like this. Drive it for sunrise!
Ariana's Pick: The perfect mix of quintessential alpine Colorado landscape and interactive mining history. The Sound Democrat Mill is a must-see for those who like to stretch their legs and explore. Try to time your visit to coincide with the wildflower bloom for a truly incredible experience.
Ariana's Pick: Who doesn't love mountain top views on a trail that is just technical enough to make it fun without being overly stressful? If you're anywhere near the Denver area, this trail should be top of your list.
Ryan's Pick: A typical wash rock crawling trail that can be different every time you run it due to rainstorms. The trail gets incrementally more difficult the farther you travel on it.
Ryan's Pick: Awesome water crossings, amazing scenery, great mining history, and some of the best remote, dispersed camping you can find in the state.
Ryan's Pick: This is an iconic 4WD trail with some of the most intense, yet epic views you will ever see from an off-road trail. This is NOT a beginner trail or a trail you learn on. Although it is light on difficulty and technicality, it has an extremely high consequence factor. Black Bear is a mentally taxing trail that demands your full attention from beginning to end. Mistakes can be deadly. Bring focus, nerves of steel, and passengers who aren't afraid of heights.
Ryan's Pick: Iconic Colorado trail with tough rock obstacles, big boulders, great mining history, and awesome views near the end.
