Dave is more of an explorer than a wheeler who loves to find remote locations to hike and kayak fish. Born and raised in Chicago for 21 years before moving to Atlanta, backroads and forests and mountains were a whole new experience and now he just can't get enough. When he's not fishing for stripers on Lake Lanier, you can find him in the mountains of North Georgia, Tennessee or South Carolina exploring and mapping backroads. Just look for the guy with the kayak on the top of the truck!

My Trail Reviews (11)

(within last 6 months)
Holcomb Creek Road (10/16/2022)
Overgrown narrow trail, but no obstacles or rough spots. Very secluded!
Billingsley Creek Road (10/16/2022)
Trail in decent shape with some minor ruts. 4x4 not necessary but high clearance definitely helpful.
Finney Creek Road (10/16/2022)
Smooth ride until the end, a few rougher spots. Still what I'd consider an easy trail.
Tuckaluge Creek Road (10/16/2022)
Steeeeeeeeep ride up, but no potholes or technical spots. But very steep road if wet would require 4x4.
Dan Gap Road (10/16/2022)
Beautiful ride with full colors right now! Trees at the top have overgrown the views sadly, but still a pretty ride! Still incorrect sign that says 155A when this is in fact 155E.
Hale Ridge Road (10/16/2022)
Trail is in decent shape, many rough spots and bumpy areas that I would not bring a car or regular passenger vehicle on this road anymore. 4x4 isn't necessary but high clearance is very strongly recommended these days due to minor ruts and bumpy spots.
Overflow Creek Road (10/16/2022)
Trail is in decent shape, many rough spots and bumpy areas that I would not bring a car or regular passenger vehicle on this road anymore. 4x4 isn't necessary but high clearance is very strongly recommended these days due to minor ruts and bumpy spots.
Tottery Pole Road (10/16/2022)
Fun single lane but fairly smooth trail. Pretty ride, didn't see another vehicle all day!
Crow Creek Road (10/15/2022)
Whole trail in good shape, camping area at the end was open and hasn't looked used in quite a while. Waterfall at the beginning always beautiful!
Pear Orchard Road (10/08/2022)
Open gates, no down trees, fresh gravel in spots. No potholes or obstacles, but single lane uneven road would require high clearance 2WD at the very least and 4WD in wet conditions. Very pretty secluded ride, connects to 62A with access to waterfalls and hiking trails etc.
Pear Orchard Loop (10/08/2022)
Fun little trail, open today, no down trees. Fresh gravel in spots. No potholes or obstacles, but narrow and uneven road would still require high clearance 2WD in all conditions. Big Leatherwood Waterfall, just .3 hike down the trail at Waypoint 6. Very cool!
