Pumpkin Vine Road (10/04/2021)
Easy dirt road with some nice views. No camping along the road but ample camp spots over in the Vedauwoo area. Ames Monument is cool to stop at and good railroad history here if that’s your thing.
Engineer Pass - Alpine Loop Connector (09/29/2021)
Great pics to be had of Animus Forks. Views views and more views. Pretty easy but then you get to the switchbacks of Engineer Pass.
Cinnamon Pass (09/26/2021)
Absolutely stunning views!! We did this during the fall and the leaves are Amazing ! So much history! Camping spots are hard to come by on weekends so grab a spot early. Slow going and steep in parts. You definitely want low 4wd. We did this in a Jeep Liberty Bone stock and crappy tires, it was not happy .
Engineer Pass (09/26/2021)
History and views to just make you say WOW 100x a day ! I did this as part of the Alpine Loop via the Connector so I missed the more difficult from Ouray. I found the trail VERY challenging in my bone stock Jeep Liberty with crappy tires. The switchbacks can be rutted and some ledges that make it difficult if you don’t have a good rig setup. I’m guessing even the stock Jeep Rubicon’s would have to watch tire placement. Make extra time to stop and see all the history, it’s crazy what people did here in the late 1800s! Oh and don’t forget you Jeep Badge of Honor if your into that sort of thing.
Hog Park Road (09/06/2021)
Nice road and gorgeous lake. Hit the Grand Encampment Museum for some local history lessons too.
