Road is in good shape. It’s a nice, easy drive. Some decent camping sites that get you away from the traffic on rampart range rd.
I made it most of the way down the trail but turned around right after the deep ruts at waypoint 10. Every part of the trail I saw is open, dry, and in good condition. I agree with other comments here that the deep ruts at waypoint 10 are the most difficult obstacle.
I took the Mt. Herman Road entrance and drove up to the Balanced Rock trail, then backtracked and left through Woodland exit. Trail is open, dry, and in good condition.
