The first portion at the lower elevation is gravel and very easy up to the shallow crossing of Mount Sterling Creek. There's a nice campsite at the creek. Just past the creek, the road climbs 1,300' feet and is rocky, rutted, and narrow. Towards the top, clay becomes more prominent with erosion obstacles and would be very slippery in wet weather. Best to run this one dry and uphill due to the limited to non-existent ability to pass another vehicle.
