The east and west halves of Bald Rock Fork Road are entirely different. On the west end, you start by driving right next to Sinking Fork before literally driving into Bald Rock Fork, both of which are creeks. When in Bald Fork, there are plenty of interesting rock formations. As you come out, the road widens and becomes very tame as you enter the Pendergrass Murray Recreational Preserve, a haven for rock climbers. The road is borderline easy-moderate. The water crossings are all hard-bottomed, and the road is suitable for any high-clearance 4WD vehicle. As with most of these roads, avoid during heavy rains.
